Washington Tornado Cleanup

A severe weather event impacted numerous locations throughout the state on Sunday, November 17th, 2013 bringing rain, hail, significant wind damage and several tornado touchdowns. The State Incident Response Center (SIRC) was activated to coordinate response efforts, and personnel/resources from IEMA, IDOT, ISP, IDNR, ING, SOS, ARC, OSFM, IDOC, CMS, IDPH, Governor’s staff, FEMA, ILEAS, IESMA, IEPA and several partner organizations were deployed to the field as appropriate. Based upon storm impacts, a Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation was issued on Monday 11/18/13 for seven counties: six additional counties were added on Tuesday. Two additional counties were added on Wednesday.

IDOT personnel and resources worked 24 Hour round the clock operations on November 19-21 and again on November 25-27, 2013.
