IDOT HOTLINE

The Department's hotline has been operational for just over two months and so far 206 calls have been received from the public. The hotline was established for the public to report abuse of state work time and vehicles, as well as to report on the good things IDOT employees are doing.

The good news is that the largest percentage of calls has been to compliment the men and women of IDOT on the job they are doing. Sixty of the calls, or over 29 percent, praised the jobs employees were doing.

"The original goal was to report the good and bad of IDOT, and we have achieved that," said IDOT Secretary Timothy Martin. Governor Blagojevich has asked all of us to be accountable, and IDOT wants to hold itself to the highest public scrutiny."

The Secretary urged the public to continue to call the hotline with their comments about the job the department is doing, and with their complaints as well. The number is 1-800-452-4368.

"We will continue to report on the phone calls received, and refine ways we view the data to improve our performance with our customers," Martin added.

Following is a summary of the calls received.
