IDOT Partners with B96 to Promote Safe Driving, Give Away Tickets to Legends of the Summer Tour

Contest Geared at Driving Teens and Young Adults to IDOT Social Media Websites for Important Safety Messages

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is partnering with Chicago's B96 Radio (WBBM-FM) to spread the message of safe driving for young adults and give away four pairs of tickets to the Legends of the Summer Tour concert featuring Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake at Soldier Field Monday, July 22nd.

“We wanted to use one of the most popular concerts this summer as a way to teach the dangers of drinking and driving and not buckling up,” said Illinois Transportation Secretary Ann L. Schneider. “We want people to have fun at the concerts and festivals this summer, but we want to encourage them to do it responsibly and help us save lives.”

The contest is part of IDOT's 4th of July media buy that promotes the importance of not drinking and driving and buckling up through the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.

The 4th of July holiday weekend is often one of the deadliest on the roads. More than 50 people have been killed in motor vehicle crashes during this time period in the past five years.

For a chance to win concert tickets, all you have to do is “Like” IDOT's Division of Traffic Safety Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/ILTrafficSafety then click on the contest link http://www.facebook.com/ILTrafficSafety?v=app_526583567404981.

The contest begins today and ends at 11:59 p.m. CST July 4, 2013. Each prize is two tickets to the Legends of the Summer Tour. B96 will draw names and announce the winners on Friday, July 5th.
