ROCKFORD, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation will
hold an informational open house in Rockford on September 9 to discuss
the proposed improvement of IL 251 (Kishwaukee Street).
The informational meeting will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday,
September 9, at the Ken-Rock Community Center, 3218 11th St., in
Rockford. The public is invited to attend at any time during the
meeting hours. There will be no formal presentation.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed improvement
of IL 251 from 15th Avenue to Harrison Avenue in Rockford, and to
receive public input on the proposal. The project would include
reconstruction of the pavement, adding a center bi-directional turn
lane, adding right turn lanes in some areas, new curb and gutter
and sidewalks.
Plans and drawings will be available for public review and IDOT
personnel will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
The meeting site is accessible to disabled individuals. Anyone
