HIGHLAND, IL, August 3, 2011 -- The Illinois
Department of Transportation (IDOT) will hold a public
informational meeting Thursday, August 18, 2011 as part of the
Preliminary Engineering Study for the access improvement along
I-70 from IL 143 to US 40 in Madison County. The meeting will be
held at the following location and time:
August 18, 2011: 4 - 7 p.m.

Highland, Illinois This is the second public
involvement meeting for this project. The purpose of this
meeting is to seek input from the public regarding two
alternatives to address access needs along I-70 from the IL 143
interchange to the US 40 interchange. Handouts and display
boards will be available for public review, as will information
regarding engineering, environmental and other important issues
relating to the study. Representatives from IDOT and engineering
consultants, EFK Moen, CBB and SCI Engineers, will be present to
discuss the project and answer questions. The meeting will be
held in an open-house format; therefore no formal presentation
will be made. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to
provide comment, input and feedback on the study.
The meeting site is accessible to disabled
individuals. If special accommodations are needed, notify the
District Office at least three (3) days before the meeting so
