DIXON. Illinois -- The Illinois Department of Transportation, located in Dixon, announces a PUBLIC MEETING to be held on July 2, 2002, at the CHURCH HALL adjacent to St. Patrickís Catholic Church at 104 Church Street in Arlington, IL, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to review the ongoing construction and imminent road closures in two (2) locations on IL 89 between LaMoille and Cherry.

Advanced Asphalt Company is the contractor for the $7.2 million project that began last November with pavement patching, widening of the existing roadway, and placing the first layer of asphalt resurfacing. This summerís work will involve earthwork operations and culvert replacements throughout the entire 7.5 mile project. Extensive pavement reconstruction is scheduled through Arlington and in LaMoille south of the US 34 intersection. The reconstruction will involve placing storm sewers and curb and gutter. The intersection of IL 89 with Plank Road at the north edge of Cherry will be reconstructed on a new alignment with turn lanes.

Construction operations will continue throughout this entire construction season. The final resurfacing and pavement striping is scheduled to be completed in the early summer of 2003. Please drive safely and be alert for the workers and construction operations.
