KENDALL COUNTY, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting in Oswego on July 15 to discuss the improvement of Illinois 71.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, at the Oswego High School cafeteria. The public is invited to attend at any time during the meeting hours, there will be no formal presentation.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the improvement of Illinois 71 from US 34 to Orchard/Minkler Road in Oswego and to receive public input. The proposed improvement includes widening IL 71 to four lanes with curb and gutter. Additional left turn lanes will be constructed, and traffic signals installed or improved, where appropriate. Construction of a storm sewer and sidewalk is also proposed within the project limits.

Exhibits, maps, and plans will be available for public review and IDOT personnel will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
