Proposed Interstate 57-Stuenkel Road/University Parkway
Interchange Subject of IDOT Public Hearing
UNIVERSITY PARK – The Illinois Department of
Transportation (IDOT) will host a Public Hearing on Tuesday,
June 14, to discuss plans for a proposed new interchange at
Stuenkel Road/University Parkway and Interstate 57 in University
Park and unincorporated Will County. The project also includes
improvements to Stuenkel Road/University Parkway between Harlem
and Central Avenues. The Public Hearing is being held in an open
house format, meaning interested residents can attend any time
from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011

The project is included in IDOT’s 2012-2017 Proposed
Highway Improvement Program as part of the Illinois Jobs Now!
projects. The scope of the hearing is to share details on the
proposed interchange improvement plans and accept public
comments on IDOT’s preferred alternative. Exhibits will be on
site and an audio-visual presentation will be played every 30
minutes. Staff from IDOT and members of the consultant team will
be available to answer questions.
