Public Information Meeting
I-74/I-155 Interchange Study (near Morton)

You are invited to attend a Public Informational Meeting conducted by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) concerning the proposed improvement of the Interstate 74 at its interchange with Interstate 155 in the Village of Morton. The section of I-74 under study extends from the Morton Avenue interchange, to east of the I-474 interchange. The project limits also extend along I-155 from I-74 to the IL Route 98 interchange. The primary objective of this Public Information Meeting will be the formation of a Community Advisory Group to assist IDOT with the Engineering and Environmental Studies for this project.
The Public Informational Meeting will begin with a formal presentation of the following topics followed by a question and answer session:
Presentation Topics:
- Project Overview.
- IDOT’s Context Sensitive Solutions Policy.
- The project Stakeholder Involvement Plan.
- Preliminary Purpose and Need
- Formation of the project Community Advisory Group
This project has been designated to be developed in accordance with IDOT’s Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) policy and procedures, of which the Community Advisory Group will be a key component. Information on IDOT’s CSS policy and procedures can be viewed at

A formal presentation will be made promptly at 6:00 P.M. that will last approximately ½ hour and be followed by a question and answer session. Exhibits will be on display with IDOT and Engineering Consultant staff available to discuss the project and to answer questions.
This Public Informational Meeting will be accessible to special needs individuals. Anyone needing special assistance should contact Mr. Tom Lacy, IDOT Studies and Plans Engineer at 309/671-3333. Persons planning to attend who will need a sign language interpreter or other similar accommodations should notify the IDOT TDD number at 309/671-3450 at least five days prior to the meeting.
