The Illinois Department of Transportation (lOOT), District 3 Office, will conduct a public information meeting regarding a study for replacing the existing bridge carrying IL 89 over the Illinois River south of Spring Valley. This bridge was determined eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Effects to this and other historic properties are being evaluated in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and Section 4(f) of the National Transportation Act of 1966. Additional right of way may be required throughout the project. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain public comment on project alternatives, transportation needs, historic properties, and concerns in this area.

The meeting will be conducted in an informal open house format with IDOT personnel available from 4:00 to 7:00 PM to receive input, provide information and answer questions about the study. Related exhibits will be available for the public to review and provide comments. Exhibits and comment sheets will be available at the city hall for two weeks following the meeting. There will be no formal presentation. All interested persons are invited to attend and participate. The meeting room is accessible to persons with a disability.
