PROPERTY AUCTIONS ELECTRONIC SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE
The Department maintains a free,
award-winning** catalog and electronic e-mail subscription
service for notifying interested persons and businesses of
all upcoming excess property auctions. This service allows easy and prompt access to
information on local, as well as state-wide excess property
auctions. It offers an easy way to stay informed of all
upcoming sales opportunities.
Also available is an online catalog showing all
properties currently being offered, that also contains information on recently concluded
transactions. If you would like to see the listings, just click below on
the "catalog" link.

Sales are normally held on the site, at a
nearby public facility or other convenient locations. Sales may
consist of parcels of land, usually small and irregularly shaped,
structures such as houses, barns, and buildings, and also personal
property such as refrigerators, air-conditioners, furnaces, mobile
homes, etc. There are no set schedules for these disposal auctions,
but rather they are held where and when the situation warrants.
Payment methods are subject to sale category, but generally are due
on the date of sale. Specific terms, dates, and locations are
described in detail in the notification you receive.
Your e-mail address will be kept
private and not sold or otherwise distributed outside the
department.
** IDOT's "catalog and subscription service" was named
the 2003 First Place Winner of the Federal Highway
Administration's "Excellence in Right of Way Awards,
Technical Specialties" Competition.
This award was presented for "any project, process,
person, or group involved in a project or process that has
used Federal Highway Administration funding sources to make
an outstanding contribution to transportation".
