The first public informational meeting was held on June 23, 2010 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Waterloo City Hall and was attended by 125 people. Those in attendance were able to view exhibits showing existing data about the project such as traffic, crash, preliminary traffic analyses. Aerial photography of the existing roadway was shown on displays. The public was asked to provide input to the project study group (IDOT and its consultant) on the problems that exist on Illinois Route 3 and what improvements they thought might be needed.

Vandebrook Drive Public Informational Meeting
An informational meeting was held for the residents of the subdivisions off of Vandebrook Drive to announce of the inclusion of the Vandebrook Drive intersection into the project limits. The meeting was held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 6 - 7 p.m. at Waterloo City Hall.

The second public informational meeting was held on December 1, 2010 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Waterloo High School and was attended by 131 people. Those in attendance were able to view exhibits showing conceptual alternatives for design consideration agreed upon by the Community Advisory Group, along with the Project Problem Statement. Exhibits were also available displaying traffic and crash data. Attendees were able to provide input to the conceptual alternatives to the project study group (IDOT and its consultant).

Third Public Informational Meeting
The third public information meeting was held on
September 15, 2011 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Waterloo High
School and was attended by 134 people. Those in
attendance were able to view exhibits showing the
preferred alternative chosen by the Project Study Group
with input from the Community Advisory Group, including
the proposed roundabout at IL Route 156 and Lakeview
Drive. Video displays and scale models were available
for the public to have a “hands-on” feel for navigating
through a roundabout. Attendees were able to provide
input on the preferred alternative to the Project Study
Group (IDOT and its consultant).

from 4 – 7 p.m. at Waterloo High School and was
attended by 137 people. Those in attendance were
able to view exhibits showing the proposed design
chosen by the Project Study Group with input from
the Community Advisory Group, including the proposed
roundabout at IL Route 156 and Lakeview Drive. Video
displays and scale models were available for the
